I finally  made it to see the Oprah Show. Yes, even when you live in Chicago it is near impossible to get tickets for Oprah. My good fortune came to me on Sunday afternoon, when I received a call from Harpo Studios inviting me to see the show. I was also allowed to bring a guest! It was for the following Thursday. Short notice, but I had no problem taking off work for this.  My aunt is a huge Oprah fan, who is always asking if I can get her tickets, so of course she was first on my list to be my guest. She lives in Alabama, and she  rearranged her schedule in a heart beat. Never underestimate the “Power of Oprah”…

 The show was based on the latest book from her club, A New Earth: Awakening to Your Life’s Purpose, along with the online classes she and Eckhart have been giving to us all for free. I truly love this book and the online classes really are the greatest gift. This has been such a wake up call for so many people. You have to be ready for this awakening to happen. So the timing was perfect for me.

Oprah has also expressed her gratitude and passion for these teachings in more than one way. Still it surprised me when she announced she would not be recommending anymore books to her club for the remainder of the year. She is content staying with A New Earth. I believe she is determined to raise enough collective consciousness to save our planet. You just gotta love her!

She has got to be the brightest, most giving, most wonderful human being on the planet.  I have always admired her many great qualities, mainly for this one reason;  She never ceases to amaze me! Now she has done it again. Not sure how she can top this one, but knowing Oprah, she will find a way.

The show I went to was all about how A New Earth has changed you and in what way. It was interesting to see what a positive effect this book has had on so many people in so many ways. For me it has been that I feel much lighter these days. My load has finally been lifted and I am free of the struggle that once was my life. My outlook has never been better.

I feel compelled to tell you yet again, these classes are still available and will be for a very long time. Since this is the only book for the book of the month club, it may be indefinetly.

Helpful Tips If Going To The Oprah Show:

1. Dress warm! I am guessing it to be about 45 – 50 degrees inside there.  It was hard to concentrate, I just kept thinking about how cold I was.
2. Parking is available. However, be prepared to pay $25.00 for it. I am sure that goes toward one of her worthy causes though.
3. There is an Oprah shop right across the street. Lots of souvenirs and items you will want or possibly even need. Oprah shirts seem to be the best buy at about $26.00 per shirt. Key chains were only ten. Again, charitable foundations.
4. Travel light. No cell phones, pagers, or cameras allowed inside the studio. Space is limited, so a small purse works best if possible.
5. Your belongings will be searched. Be prepared for a thorough search of your bags. Security is tight, so they will hold any items they feel necessary.
6. You will be standing in a single line, and they ask that you walk slowly. Especially up and down the stairs.
7. Wear bright colors. Avoid black, white, or beige.
8. Bring a photo ID.
9. Address is 1058 W. Washington. 10 minutes from the loop, and right off 94 expressway.
